New Guides Network Site

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

The New version of The Guides Network site has been built and put online. It is not as yet fully finished but the main design and concept of the site is in place. Our Network of sites include guides for Insurances, Utilities, Financial and many more. The new site has been designed as the main hub of our guide sites so I have tried to make it as simple as possible to browse through them all. Each site is grouped into a category (ie. Travel Guides) then a short description of every site is provided along with screenshots of the sites themselves. A video is to be made for the front page of the Guides Network site describing our aim to provide you with free, unbiased information in a simple, user friendly format.

Heathrow Airport Guide re-design

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

My task at the moment is to create new designs for a range of Airport guides, there are 22 sites altogether from Heathrow to Robin Hood Airport. They are a very useful resource for travelers. You can find taxi services on the airports enabling you to pre-book one before your trip. You will be able to easily look up Arrival and Departure times, news updates on the airports as well as a lot more helpful information.

The old sites are becoming outdated so I’ve been asked to create a new look and feel to the sites. I have enjoyed this task as I am looking forward to the impact the new designs will have on the amount of people visiting the sites.

Heathrow and Gatwick account for 70% of the traffic the airport guides get, with the smaller airports making up the rest.

Below is a screen shot of the site as it is at the moment.

I hope the new designs will increase the amount of visitors and make them better sites. I ‘ll do another post when the new designs are up and running with a screen shot of the new layout.
