I had been eagerly awaiting this movie for quite some time and admitedly was very excited about seeing it on the big screen. I had followed all the hype about Cloverfield including the fake website advertising Slusho the fake slushie company that when drunk gives you ultra abnormal strength. There were a few other sites that had massive traffic from users when they were linked with Cloverfield but none, really in the end gave any real knowledge of what Cloverfield was really going to be about.

It is filmed by a small group of friends hosting a leaving party for thier friend Jason Hawkins. Hud is the main camera man. Camera man used in the loosest sence possible as the whole film is filmed on a handheld camera very shakily. This movie did make me feel physically sick by the end of it lol but I enjoyed it all as part of the Cloverfield experiance.

The monster had been kept secret from viewers untill the movies release. This is how moster movies should be made in my view. Very thrilling, very exciting right to the end!

Make sure you go see it!

Surfing in SandyMouth Bay (Cornwall)

Body Boarding

On a recent trip to my Aunt & Uncles in Cornwall I had the rare opportunity to take to the waves and partake in one of my favourite hobbies and surf. I hadn’t surfed in around a year so was very eager to get out there and shake of the rust. But ney it was not to be on this wet and windy afternoon as soon as I walked excitedly down with my cousin’s 6ft board under my arm to SandyMouth Bay a lifeguard approached and told me it was too dangerous to surf! He did however allow me to bodyboard not so far out so not a total letdown. The dogs got a walk too :)

Gizmo & MiceFest.com

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

I have recently bought a mouse (Gizmo) as a pet to see how tame I can make him. I have been reading many Blogs and web articles on how to tame mice and some are genuinely helpful others not so. As I attempt to tame Gizmo I wanted to blog my results here.

Meanwhile I am reading a book that Steve Whiteley bought me (Web Programming with HTML, XHTML, and CSS). I have been wanting to learn HTML and web development to advance my career as a web designer.

I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to teach myself HTML by building a mouse guide. So I went ahead and bought myself the domain MiceFest.com as part of my experiment. I will carry on blogging on my progression with Gizmo and the new site as they happen.

New Guides Network Site

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

The New version of The Guides Network site has been built and put online. It is not as yet fully finished but the main design and concept of the site is in place. Our Network of sites include guides for Insurances, Utilities, Financial and many more. The new site has been designed as the main hub of our guide sites so I have tried to make it as simple as possible to browse through them all. Each site is grouped into a category (ie. Travel Guides) then a short description of every site is provided along with screenshots of the sites themselves. A video is to be made for the front page of the Guides Network site describing our aim to provide you with free, unbiased information in a simple, user friendly format.
